2012 Nominations - Recruit of the Year

- You can nominate somebody for as many awards as you like.
- You can only nominate one person for any one award. You can't nominate 2 people for the same award.
- You can not nominate yourself for anything, somebody else will have to nominate you.
- Any of the "moment awards" like Epic Fail will require some sort of background for your nomination. So just tell the story of what happened (for those of us who didn't witness it), and provide any relevant links to threads/screenshots/etc. if there are any.

Without a doubt, I think Krizalide deserves to be recognized as the 2012 Recruit of the Year.

People come and go from gaming communities all the time, but every once in a while a new member comes along that community veterans look at and say "Yeah, that person belongs here, we need to keep them around." Kriz is one of those people. She just fits perfectly into what OSD is all about. I've long since lost count of the number of people that have gamed with her for the first time and said immediately afterwards, "Wow, she's great, she fits in so well with us. Perfect OSD material."

It would be easy for me to let my personal thoughts and feelings influence my nomination of her very heavily, but I really didn't even have to use my own thoughts to come up with this one. Out of all the people that joined in 2012 that have spent time with myself and the group of OSD vets I've gone from game to game with, nobody else has even come close to matching the good things I've heard said about Kriz. Everyone I've talked to has taken an immediate liking to her, and has quickly developed a high level of respect for her. I can't even tell you how many "She is awesome!" comments I've received in tells and/or PM's about her from that same group of OSD vets I game with so often.

She came in as any other new member would, but has quickly cemented herself as a valued member of the community that has earned the respect and admiration of many. Because of that, I believe she has proven that she is definitely a solid fit within OSD, and in my eyes is an easy fit for Recruit of the Year.

 

I'd also like to nominate Kace for this.

Not only has she been active in 3 different divisions that I'm aware of (TOR, GW2 & TSW), but she's one of the websites Admin's that helps Donnie keep the site running smooth. It's hard to believe that she only joined last year.

She even helped setting up this sub-forum for the awards! :biggrin:

 

Kace. She jumps right in and offers to help no matter what game she is playing. She stays active on the forums and has been a great addition to OSD

 

Damian - If there was a new recruit that well, recruited as much as he has, I have yet to see it. Seems like half of the GW2 division was brought by him. Cheers.

 

Daimian, he's one of the hardest working person I know to add more people to our OSD family on GW2
