- What brought you to our website? Mandy sent me here to join up. I always do what Mandy tells me. /nodnod - This recruitment process requires that we get to know you a little bit. Tell us about yourself. I'm a long time roleplayer both online and tabletop. I've enjoyed getting to know the members of OSD in Second Life, and they invited me to become part of this guild. I'm looking forward to making new acquaintances and finding new places to discover new aspects of myself. Or at least invent some. - Do you enjoy Role Playing in-game? More than anything else. RP and socializing are my main interests in games. - Which online game interests you? (AoC or DDO) We expect all of our AoC players to use Ventrilo while they are in game. Is this ok with you? So, I copied this from the AoC questions. I've played both AoC and DDO, but neither at the present. I'm fully engaged in Second Life, and play MMOs as a sideline. If I do join up with OSD in an MMO, I can do Ventrilo, although talking and doing anything else at the same time may cause me to step in a pothole and break my ankle. - Do you intend on being active on our website forums and Events Calendar? Socializing being my main interest, I'd be pretty daft to miss out on those. - Once you learn how, we want you to create events or RSVP other scheduled events as your RL schedule permits. What are your thoughts on this? How frequent do you figure on creating an event for others to participate in? You comfortable promoting these events in the Ventrilo and/or guild chat channels? I run periodic events now, I'll just be including OSD in it from here forward. - Have you been playing MMO's for a while or are you just getting started? Since 2006. - Do you feel comfortable with the website and it's resources? I used to administer a vBulletin site. I imagine I can find my way around. - We expect all players to submit and update their characters in our website ROSTER. Are you ok with this? After reading the above content, why do you think it might be important? You mean, so people know who the heck I am in game? Or conversely, who the person they met in game is on here? Kinda a good idea, I think. - What kind of character do you typically play? Tell us about your main character? I mainly play dark haired women who aren't necessarily much good at fighting but like to chat and heal, and gather resources if the game has a nice gathering mechanic, and craft if the crafting is fun and interesting. AoC wasn't much good for that sort of thing, though. - If you violate ANY rules defined within the gaming EULA you will be removed from this community. You ok with this? Hanging's too good for cheaters. - What time of day do you typically play? How often? Mostly at night, and mostly every night. Weekends sometimes have more chances to play at normal people hours, but sometimes not. - Are you affiliated with any other guilds? Not in any of the games OSD is in. - How do you think you can best help this community? I can make silly jokes, and be a good friend, and I can sling RP pretty well, and I make awesome tacos. Also, I've been heavily involved in guild leadership in other places and times, and am always willing to lend a hand with what needs doing. Even when it cuts in on playing time. [The rest of the questions were really AoC specific. Anything else I should add?]
I stamp this with a seal of approval, twice. and one more just in case you missed the first two. Welcome Sassy! Good to have you here!
Welcome to the Silver Gates. I've a character in SL too Haven't been on in weeks though due to losing net access at home. And I play all those other MMOs, more or less, though mainly DDO. Sounds like you play the kind of characters there's never really enough of So what sort of stuff do you get up to in SL? I'm fairly new to all that ^_^ Ooh, and what sorts of tabletop games? I've played a few, Changeling, Exalted, Fading Suns, way back when. Hmm, there's something I'm forgetting, oh yes! *plants Beware of Griff sign in thread*
One quick thing to mention. Sas, please be sure you have applied at minimum to the citizens group (you may want to also do AoC) so Donnie can give you further access. You can find the link under "Settings" in the left column you will see "My Account" under that heading is Permission groups. Click it and join all the applicable groups. That is if you haven't already done so. *wink*
Not sure we need one. So far, everybody in SL (including Sasara), used to play AoC and, who knows, may do so again. We CAN create one, but I'd also recommend that Sassy at least join the AoC group as well.
I'd say, like most have, we don't need one at this point. Not enough folks to even consider it. To be honest I don't think we really need the AoC & DDO ones anymore either. There are enough of us that have crossed to both games that we have access anyway.
Thanks for the warm welcome I did apply for citizen - I'll get to the AoC one presently. As for tabletop games, D&D from way back, some Warhammer RPG more recently, and now back in an extended D&D campaign for the last couple of years. What I get up to in SL... is a long story. I've done a lot of things, from owning an art gallery to surfing to various RP groups, scripting, building, dancing, shopping, shopping, shopping... I've done a bit of DJing. I have a treehouse. And that's just getting started.
That's great. Sassy - let us know what areas you can see of the forums. You should certainly be able to see The Real World section (which has two sub forums - About Nothing and Technical). Hopefully you can also see the General Gaming forum (which includes things like General Gaming Discussion, Other MMOs and D&D PnP among others) and the Gaming Communities forum (which is where you'd find the AoC and Second Life sections).
